Our programmes range from 1 day courses that extend the school curriculum,
through to a 12 week youth development course.
We also offer school holiday
journeys that are tailored to both New Zealand and International students.

Girls & guys 16-24 years

True North is about identifying the life you want to live and how to get there. This course of outdoor adventure will challenge you, give you new skills and confidence, develop your strengths, get you motivated and have FUN. Activities include sea kayaking, mountain biking, bush craft, mountain craft, caving, rock climbing, hiking, gym workouts, waka ama and survival skills.
Achievements:
Goal setting including a strong focus on employment, improved time management and communication skills, environmental education, confidence, fitness and self awareness, First Aid

School students 13-17 years
1 week holiday programme

This course takes school students on a week long journey that is full of action-packed outdoor adventures. Students will discover remote places of wilderness in the Nelson/Tasman region by tramping, mountain biking, sea or river kayaking and camping; activities are dependent on the season.
The Journey is about having fun, exploring, and learning outdoor skills as well as for students to become aware of their strengths and potential. The adventures will require the students to work in a team and to face challenges together. A great sense of achievement, increased confidence and a memorable experience that will be shared with new friends.

Our Active Focus programmes are designed to extend the Health and Physical Education curriculum. They are endorsed by the Ministry of Education and tailored to the specific requirements of each school. Our LEOTC educator liaises with teachers to ensure specified learning outcomes are met. We are able to offer a limited number of subsidised student spaces, please contact us in advance of your desired date.
